Real Hauntings of Charleston
These Streets are Haunted!
During the day, Charleston is one of the most charming and colorful cities in the world; however, when the light fades and shadows grow long, another, darker side of the Holy City emerges. During our one mile long, 1.5 hour walk we will pass haunted graveyards, churches, alleyways, hotels, restaurants, and bars. You will hear real, terrifying stories of ghost, murders, pirates, executions, hauntings, and haints! As the night falls over the streets of Charleston, your journey begins at the Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon where you will hear tales of the real pirates whose lives were cut short at the end of a noose, but whose spirits have remained inside the dungeon for more than 300 years. You will also hear stories about mysterious murders, a couple who still wait for each other to visit from beyond the grave, and wealthy man who "got ahead of himself"!

This photo was taken outside one of Charleston’s many haunted churchyards. The apparition appears to be dressed in clothing from another era and lurking behind a grave marker. These occurrences are not uncommon in Charleston.
